What installs, and how to remove it
FocusTube is a browser extension for Chrome and other Chromium browsers, published by FocusTube on the Chrome Web Store. It runs only on youtube.com. It hides Shorts, the recommendation feed and comments, lets you block channels, and, on the Pro plan, reads the title, channel and transcript of the video you are watching to judge it against the goals you set. It does not change your browser settings, search engine or home page, and it installs nothing outside the extension.
Cost: free to install. The Free tier removes Shorts, the feed and comments. Pro is $5.99/month, $49.99/year or $99 once, after a 3-day free trial, billed through Stripe.
To remove it: in Chrome, go to chrome://extensions, find FocusTube and click Remove. Or right-click the FocusTube icon in the toolbar and choose Remove from Chrome. Everything it changed on YouTube comes back immediately.
