What FocusTube is
FocusTube is a Chrome browser extension and web dashboard that helps you manage your YouTube watching habits. The extension classifies videos, detects spirals, and nudges you. The dashboard shows your watch data and focus score.
Your account
You need an account to use FocusTube. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person. If you suspect unauthorised access, email us immediately at support@focustube.co.uk.
Free trial
Every new account gets 14 days of full access. No credit card required. When the trial ends, the extension stops working until you upgrade. Your data is kept.
Pricing and billing
Pro costs $5.99/month or $49.99/year. Lifetime access is $99, one payment, no recurring charges. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can cancel anytime through the Stripe billing portal - no cancellation fees, no hoops.
If you cancel a monthly or annual plan, you keep access until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are handled case by case - email us and we'll sort it out.
What you can do
Use FocusTube for personal use. Install it on your own Chrome browser. Set your own goals and preferences.
What you can't do
- · Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the extension
- · Use automated tools to abuse the API or classification system
- · Resell, sublicense, or redistribute FocusTube
- · Use FocusTube to collect data about other people
- · Circumvent any security or access controls
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
AI classification
FocusTube uses third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude and OpenAI) to classify your videos. Classification isn't perfect. It will sometimes get videos wrong. FocusTube reads patterns across your session, not individual video judgments, to decide when to nudge.
We're not responsible for classification errors. If the AI misclassifies a video, it doesn't affect your account standing or data.
Availability
We aim for high uptime but can't guarantee it. FocusTube depends on Chrome's extension platform and third-party APIs. YouTube updates can temporarily break functionality. We fix issues as fast as we can.
Limitation of liability
FocusTube is provided as-is. We don't guarantee specific results, time savings, or behaviour changes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FocusTube's total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We're not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect damages arising from your use of FocusTube.
Intellectual property
FocusTube, its code, design, and content are owned by us. Your data belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your goals, watch history, or any content you provide.
Third-party services
FocusTube depends on the following to operate: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Anthropic and OpenAI (video classification), Resend (transactional email), and PostHog (usage analytics). By using FocusTube you acknowledge your data may be processed by these providers under their own terms.
Cookies
FocusTube uses a single authentication cookie managed by Supabase. No advertising cookies. No tracking cookies. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
Data retention
Watch history is kept for 90 days. Account data is kept until you delete your account. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention schedule.
Changes to these terms
We can update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll email you and update the effective date. Continuing to use FocusTube after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
